It’s been a great week with the kids here. I have done nothing in our kitchen since they arrived. Travis has been making breakfast every day (Thank you Travis!), we normally have a quick lunch while we are out and dinner has been at a restaurant every night. The bad part of this is that i have not stuck to my diet at all while they have been here.
Looking for the Sunshine; Tarpon Belly and Square Grouper 12/13/2018
It was a great day with the “crew” yesterday. I started the day with my normal walk but this time my daughter joined me. Randy’s ankle is still hurting him so he took the day off.
Awesome Day with Family and Dinner at Tonio’s 12/12/2018
While the weather was cool and windy, it was the best day because Kat and Ryan joined us in the Keys. I rented the house for them to come and visit as their Christmas present, but it was really a present for myself. Love having my family with me for a few days!

Had a great evening at the Boat Club dinner. The Chinese food was good. The speaker from the Dolphin Research Center was awesome. Her presentation had videos of their activities and she talked about the individual dolphins at the center. It was good meeting more residents. I just need to remember all the names—not my strong suit. Really love this place! The best part about the evening is that we won second prize in the 50/50 raffle. And the kids are coming tomorrow so I am sure there will be lots of fun things to do for the next couple of days!!
Second Walk for the Day 12/11/2018
Did our normal 2 mile walk early this morning but Randy had a sore ankle so we walked very slow. I decided to walk again this afternoon. I am much quicker when I walk by myself—but it is not as much fun.
One Month 12/09/2018
It is a little more than two months since we retired, and one month since we left Westminster, and so far we are loving being in Florida for the winter. Its no wonder there are so many snowbirds. And we are definitely looking forward to additional travels next year. I do miss our friends and family from home, but the warm weather is keeping us busy so we don’t have a chance to think about it too much.
Mangrove Mama’s Love Their Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet 12/07/2018
Thoroughly enjoyed the Prime Rib and Seafood buffet tonight. Especially when they were offering 20 percent off if you showed the server their Facebook page. The only problem is that I am going to need to walk 6 miles tomorrow!
Enjoying the Weather 12/07/18
One of the biggest advantages about being in Florida over the winter is that I can be outdoors more than at home. Finding time to exercise is easy too.
Tarpon Belly Key 12/04/2018
Another gorgeous day in the Keys, even if slightly overcast in the morning. There are several anoles living on or near the palm tree in our yard. This one stayed still long enough that I could get a quick picture. I believe this is a non-native brown anole but i need a better picture to confirm.

After our morning walk we took the boat over to Summerland Key to spend a couple of hours exploring. Summerland is between Ramrod Key and Cudjoe Key. We only saw a few homes that appear to still have damage from Irma. This Key has lots of canals with gorgeous homes and lots of large boats. It even has a small private airport.
