it is still windy here and its a little rough out on the water so we are spending the day catching up on some chores while enjoying the sunshine. Randy washed the Jeep and the boat. While he was washing the boat, he had a visitor. I assume the manatee recogized the sound of running water so came over to investigate. This one got close enough i could have reached out and touched. I didn’t try but i did get a few nice pictures.

Venture Out has a fun Christmas Golf Cart Parade. We had about 22 decorated carts drive through the community where some of the drivers threw out candy to the local children. This was our first time so i didn’t know about this part of the parade, but not everyone had candy so we weren’t the only ones that did not have anything to give. One nice part of the parade was that one of the homeowners had made several different types of shooters that they distributed to adult participants. The Bailey’s shooters were very good!!! Later in the evening they also had a Christmas tree lighting ceremony but we went out to dinner so didn’t get back in time to participate. I heard the cookies afterwards were very good.

We have had small craft warnings for the last 2 days. The temperature has dropped down to the 60’s. Not cold but unusual for here. This is the “windy” season. The temp’s should climb back up tomorrow and get back in the 80’s for the weekend.

- We explored parts of Cudjoe Bay in our boat this morning. We were fortunate to see two manatees right outside our canal. We made sure to give them plenty of room but we stopped to watch them for a few minutes. The one was at least 10′ but the second one was slightly smaller at about 8′. We are only in a 17′ boat so they looked very big in comparison. In the video link below you can see the manatee better than in the picture.
Thanksgiving 10/22/2018
Traveling like we are means that we will not be with our family on holidays, birthdays, etc. That is the only thing i worry about with our 2 + year travel plans. Even though this year was different on Thanksgiving, I still enjoyed the holiday.

Big Pine Key: Blue Hole 11/17/2018
Blue Hole is the only freshwater lake in The Florida Keys. It is located on Big Pine Key. It was formed from a rock quarry used for nearby road fills and Henry Flagler’s Overseas Railroad. The water comes from the collection of rainwater only. It is not connected to any stream or river. The Blue Hole is part of the Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuge and the National Key Deer Refuge. I think the endangered Key Deer are only found on Big Pine Key and a few other Keys close by. Blue Hole is one of the few places in the Keys to see alligators. Prior to Hurricane Irma we always used to see two alligators near the viewing platform, but so far this year we have only seen one. I was glad to see the one as we did not see any last year on our visit to the Blue Hole. I do not know how the deer survived the flooding from Irma, but also glad to see they also survived.

I am always getting asked what the interior of our RV looks like, so here are some pictures.

Several years ago we started talking about retirement plans and what we would do. We knew we wanted to travel extensively so we started looking at various motorhomes. Randy liked the truck conversion motorhomes so we finally decided on a ShowHauler. It took us almost a year to finalize our design and for our “Dirt Yacht” to be built.
