Randy loves the underwater light that he received as a Christmas present. He especially likes seeing all of the fish or animals that the light attracts.
Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding 01/26/2018
I had never heard of Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding so when they first started advertising this dinner party I was really not sure what to expect. However once we were told it was an interactive play set as an over-the-top Italian wedding, we thought it would be a lot of fun. And it was! Maureen who played Tina was superb. Everyone was a total ham that night. We are really liking all of the activities at Venture Out.
Portuguese Man-of-War 01/24/2019
The wind shifted and was blowing directly into our canal. This change in wind direction brought in some floating grass and lots of Porutuguese Man-of -War. They are beautiful creatures but sure dont want to get stung by any of them. There were several of them just slightly smaller than my fist but there were hundred about the size of my thumb nail. The larger one had tentacles about 2’ long.
V. O. Strong Walk-A-Thon
This morning I participated in the annual Venture Out Walk-A-Thon. We walked the entire park except for one small court that cut off about two tenths of a mile.
Big Pine Key: Bucktooth Rooster and Key Deer 1/19/2019
We needed to go to the grocery store so we decided to go to the Winn-Dixie on Big Pine Key, with a stop at the Bucktooth Rooster for dinner.
Return Trip to Islamorada: Plantation Yacht Harbor Marina and Hog Heaven Restaurant
We went back to Islamorada to help Peter with his dink. It was another gorgeous day. I took advantage of the great weather while we were there. Walked for almost an hour and then spent time in the pool and tread water/swam for 40 minutes. I was exhausted by the time Randy and Peter were done. Had a late lunch/early dinner at Hog Heaven Sports Bar and Grill, 85361 Overseas Highway, Islamorada. One of my new favorites.
Islamorada: Plantation Yacht Harbor Marina and Lazy Days Restaurant 01/17/2019
We spent the afternoon on Islamorada (pronounced I-La-Morada) this afternoon. The name Islamorada or “Island Home” came from early Spanish explorers in the area. It is nicknamed “Purple Isle” since morada can also mean purple. The Village of Islamorada is comprised of six islands including Plantation Key, Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Lower Matecumbe Key and the offshore islands of Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key.
A Day in Paradise 01/08/2019
Today was an absolutely perfect day. Definitely paradise. The weather was gorgeous. Low to mid 80’s. Not too hot with light winds, but still warm enough to enjoy the pool.
Manatee 01/04/2018
We finally got the boat back in the water today. It has been on the trailer since Randy pulled it before the New Year because of the gale force winds. With Randy feeling better we can finally get back out on the water again.
It’s Not Fun When You Are Sick: No New Year’s Eve Celebration 12/31/2018
It’s not fun when you are sick, but especially on a holiday. That is even more true when you have friends in town and you don’t feel well enough to visit with them.
